Kartchner Caverns State Park is a 550-acre master planned multi-use environmental facility. THe park features five miles of hiking trails and a handicapped accessible loop trail, 63 campgrounds spaces, on-site interpretive education programs and a 23,000 square foot state-of-the-art interactive "Discovery Center." The Discovery Center features a comprehensive bookstore and a gift shop, shaded picnic areas, special events ramada and play area. There is truly something for everyone at Kartchner Caverns State Park!
The Discovery Center features a two-story theater, featuring a stunning video, "Discovering Kartchner Caverns" every 20 minutes during operating hours. The Discovery Center also features a superb selection of interactive exhibits. Interpretive exhibits feature themes on cave exploration, bat colonies, the cave tour experience, and unique features of a wet cave. Static displays feature life-size cave mammals and cave formations. There is also a 167-seat outdoor amphitheater for special interpretive programs. School groups are always welcome!
